Little Red Wagon #787 - Merry Christmas

It's our last Little Red Wagon Challenge for the year.  Imke has a perfect challenge for this time of year, Merry Christmas.  We would love to see your Christmas creations, which can include paper crafts besides cards.

I took the opportunity to create a shaker in a little different way.  I used a plastic ziplock to place my background and shaker bits in.  Then I created an envelope (using an envelope punchboard) with a cut out to create the frame.  I added a Sketchy Santa (from TCP) and a die cut eyelet border (retired from TCP) to the top.  It was finished off with a LOTV sentiment and punched snowflakes.  The die in the background is from Frantic Stamper.

I do hope you can find the time to join us this week.  The Girlfriends have some beauties to share with you, I'm sure.  Stop by and leave them a Hi.  If you are counting down to Christmas, there are 7 more days to go.  I would like to wish you a Christmas full of wonder and blessings.  Thanks so much for having out with us and playing along in our challenges.  We'll see you next year for a brand new set of challenges!

Aloha,

Brenda

AYLI #298 - Anything Christmas

It's time for another As You Like It Challenge.  This fortnight our challenge theme is to share your favorite, Anything Christmas.  For a chance at the top-3 spot, your project needs to show your favorite and you need to tell us why you've made your choice.  That way, we can all appreciate why it's your favourite.

This week we are creating for the pure fun of it!

I love putting all the sparkle and shine of Christmas on my cards. It gives such a festive feeling.  (But sometimes they are hard to photograph).  I cut this gorgeous Frantic Stamper die from gold metallic paper and loved making the background with distress inks.

We would love for you to head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs and take a look at the gorgeous creations the DT made for you to see!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Aloha,
Brenda

CRAFT Challenge - Christmas, the last stretch

It's time for a new CRAFT Challenge!  Since we are in the last stretch, we would love for you to join us in making a Christmas project.

Our Sponsor this week is -

I had the pleasure of using one of the cute digis from our sponsor.  This digi is called aptly enough, Cool Couple.  I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and created the background with Distress Inks on watercolor paper.  A little snow was added with heat embossing and a circle punched moon colored with more distress ink.  The tags are my go-to from Lili of the Valley.

Come on over and join in the fun over at the CRAFT Challenge blog!

Thanks for you visit!

Aloha,
Brenda

Little Red Wagon Challenge #786 - Action

If it's Wednesday, it means there is something new going on over at Little Red Wagon.  This week's challenge is a continuation of Kate's fun theme of Def Leppard-inspired challenges this year.  This week she has chosen the song "Action" which kind speaks for itself, she wants to see things that move.  Don't forget, we love cards but also your scrapbook pages, tags, altered items, bookmarks, journals...any papercraft goes!

For this challenge I created a Fun Fold Window Card that I found on Pinterest here.  I used one of the sweet Bunny images from The Cat's Pajamas.  I put a wobbler on back so he could fly down the hill on his sled.  I love the way this card turned out and it was pretty simple to create!  The Bunny was colored up with Copic markers and a little shine from Jelly Roll pens.  I also want to remind you of the final sale going on over at The Cat's pajamas.  This will be your last chance to add Alma's digis to your stash.😢

All here is going well.  Right now there is drywall dust EVERYWHERE, but the renovation is moving along.  With a little luck, we are on track for a spring move in.  I hope you all are doing well.  Thanks so much for checking in and for those of you who take the time to comment, it is much appreciated!

Aloha,

Brenda

Sketchy Santas

It's Brenda here today with a little reminiscing about my adventure with The Cat's Pajamas.  It all started 20 or so years ago when I met Alma at a trade show.  It didn't take long for me to realize what a special person she was and I immediately fell in love with Poochie, Sprinkle and the gang.  In fact this is the first TCP stamp I owned.  I am saddened, but know the future holds nothing but good things for Miss Meowy and the Cat Pack.

Now flash let's fast forward to today.  I am sharing a couple more Christmas cards I have created with the October release set, Sketchy Santas Digistamps.

This card started with a smooched inked background (on watercolor paper) scattered with embossing powder and glitter cardstock snow.  I added a few twinkly snowflakes and sentiment using a stamp from the original retired stamp set.  The image printed, cut and colored with Prismacolor pencils and the moon is simply a watercolored circle punch.

My second card features the skiing Santa from the same set.  It was created in the same manor with a bit of glitter cardstock providing the snowy ski trail for Santa.

As you may know, there is a big sale going on, so go grab the rest of your favorites before it is too late!

Aloha,

Brenda

LRW #785 - Tag, You're It

We have a new challenge for you over at Little Red Wagon, I'm your hostess this week.  Being that it is so near Christmas, I tried to think of something that could be used at Christmas, or something else if you are tired of Christmas.  I decided to go with Tag, You're It.  I'm looking forward to seeing your tags of any flavor, Christmas or otherwise.

I made tags using Eric Elf by Last Minute Manda, she had a great sale going on, hopefully it is still going on as I am posting this a bit early. I colored Eric up with Prismascolor pencils and just cut my own tags from kraft cardstock and used some embossing folders for the texture.

We look forward to having you play along. We would love to see any type of paper craft as long as there is a tag on it. If you are lacking in inspiration, stop by to see the Girlfrieds, I'm sure they will give you some great ideas.

I can't wait to see what you create!

Aloha,
Brenda

As You Like It Challenge #297 - Silver, Gold or Glitter

We have a new challenge for you over at As You Like It Challenge. This fortnight our challenge theme is to share your favorite; Gold, Silver or Glitter. For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot, your project needs to show your favorite and you need to tell us why you've made your choice. That way, we can all appreciate why it's your favourite.

This week our sponsor is:

I love having a touch of sparkle on my cards, so glitter cardstock or glitter glue is my favorite.  As you can see, I used glitter cardstock to paper piece the sentiment on this darling image so kindly provided by our sponsor.  It is called Merry Christmas.

We would love for you to head back to the AYLI blog to link up your creation.  While you are there, check out the prize that's up for grabs and take a look at the gorgeous creations the DT made for you to see!

For those of you here in the US, Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy the day and all that it represents.  Thanks so much for everyones visits.
